When I set out to write this post I was actually scrolling through in search of a certain photo. Then I saw this one and knew I had to write about it. I don’t actually even remember taking this photo, but it’s of Loch Ard Gorge and my oh my, isn’t it a pretty one?
I recently shared another photo taken while I was exploring Loch Ard Gorge, here it is, which explains some history and is my ultimate favorite photo that I took during my trip on the Great Ocean Road. But as that photo wasn’t specifically of the gorge itself, I thought why not show you this one as well?!
Just look at the colors! UGH I CAN’T GET ENOUGH! I adore the blue and how it contrasts off the beige of the rock. I love how it’s like you’re looking down into a secret space, hidden away from the vast ocean just outside of the gorge. You kind of are hidden away and protected here.
I was supposed to swim in Loch Ard Gorge that day but unfortunately the water was way too cold, but hey, at least I got to explore the surrounding areas, part of Port Campbell, and get to see views like this. Because let’s be honest. If I were able to swim in the gorge I highly doubt that I would have had the time to go wandering up on top.
To me, this photo feels like a secret space, one where you can go to just think and watch the ocean. I know if I lived in Port Campbell I would probably spend many a day up on that spot looking out on the water.
It is so beautiful.
Have you ever been to Loch Ard Gorge, or the Great Ocean Road?
