I think I may have just discovered the perfect simple Christmas gift to give this Christmas season!
I love D-I-Y, but I’ve never been the best at it. I’m not the most patient of people when it comes to making things. So when Scott asked me what he should get for his coworkers for Christmas, my big idea was “a Christmas card”. Yeah, I’m awesome. In the end Scott came up with the idea to bake cookies and put them in baggies with ribbons.
While he filled out Christmas cards for people and wrapped my presents, I stayed in the kitchen to bake the cookies. I love baking and was excited to do some baking!
In the end he chose the Pillsbury Christmas tree cookies to make, so no real baking required. We took the easy way out! I normally would have wanted to bake cookies from scratch, but he wanted to bring the baggies into work that night, so I only had a few hours to bake, let the cookies cool, make up the baggies, and him walk to work.
Along with the cookies he also chose the green ribbon to tie around the baggies. We couldn’t find any cute holiday baggies to put the cookies into, so I decided to take sandwich baggies, cut off the zip-lock zip, and wrap the ribbon around them in a bow to make the baggies festive!
We made a total of 7 bags, and each bag had 6 cookies.
Since I didn’t bake the cookies from scratch, the total making time was maybe half an hour! These cookies are delicious, only take 10 minutes to bake, and cooled really quickly.
For a relatively last minute gift idea, is was the PERFECT simple Christmas gift to give. I only wish we had more people to make them for!
