I think I’ve made it pretty clear how much I love Autumn.
Before I moved to Vancouver everyone would tell me how rainy it would be, and how other than rain, there would be no weather changes.
As much as I looked forward to not having to dig my way through 4 feet of snow just to get to the car, I knew I would miss the seasons.
As much as I dislike the below freezing temperatures, I love snow. I love how beautiful and magical snow makes the world appear. Even if the day has gone from good to crummy, when I looked outside and saw the snow falling I couldn’t help but feel so excited and happy inside.
I love how fresh everything seems in Spring. The birds come out to sing, we can finally take off those huge winter jackets. And the air we breathe feels so new.
I love how bright summer is. I would spend all afternoon sitting outside, tanning and reading, and although it usually got too sweaty for my liking, it was so relaxing to just give in to the heat.
So when everyone said that Vancouver had no weather other than rain I was a touch worried.
What about my favourite season Autumn? I always loved how quick the trees leaves would change color in Ontario and make the forests beautiful. Walking the trails were just amazing, everything was so photogenic.
Even though I love rain, there could be no replacing my favourite season.
I needn’t have worried. Vancouver knows how to do Autumn right!
I have been trying to get out as much as I can to enjoy the weather.
In Ontario by now I’d be worrying about snow, but here the sun is warm, the air is crisp, and leaves are on the ground everywhere. The trees themselves aren’t as coloured as I would like them, but that is a small price to pay when I get to walk outside for hours and hear the crunching underneath my feet.
It’s hardly rained since I moved here in February, and honestly, I’ve been missing the rainstorms!
A few rainstorms and if Vancouver could keep this amazing weather forever, I would be so happy.
So to everyone who told me that Vancouver has no weather, I only wish you could be here to go walking around right now.
You would never want to leave.
