I think we can agree that I had the best weekend. I had a wonderful Friday night eating food and watching horror. And then, I had the BEST Saturday morning!
It all started when Disney announced Mickey Monthly Memories. Every month Disney is releasing a new set of pins, a mug, and a plush to celebrate Mickey Mouse. Every month has a different theme, and everything is limited edition.
January was Steamboat Willie and everything looked incredible. I only want to collect the pins though because A) I’m addicted to pins and B) who has space for 12 new plush’s and mugs? Not this girl.
Unfortunately I had to work the day January’s collection was released so I was unable to get any of the pins. I am sad about this, but not getting pins is not the end of the world, so I’ll get over it. But since both the February and March collections are being released on a Saturday I knew I had to get them.
The mall opened at 10 am this past Saturday and so I, in typical me fashion, had to be early. An hour and a half early to be precise.
I was the first one there.
I was a little surprised since I’ve heard of other stores having huge lines come opening, but this is Canada and the weather was bad.
I plopped down to wait. The manager was kind enough to come out to tell me that the store had only been delivered some pins, no plush or mug. Thankfully for me I only wanted the pins! Some others were not as lucky and were upset when I passed along the message. It was so cool to stand outside the store and talk Disney with others. There are some crazy hard fans out there and I had a blast.
Once it was time for the store to open I was lucky enough to be picked to participate in the opening ceremonies. It was because I had been there so long haha, but still. I was named Princess Brooklyn, who had flown on a magic carpet from Ontario, battled wind and snow, all to arrive at the store.
They have a huge lock and key that I helped turn to unlock the store, and then I was gifted my very own key.
I am a nerd, and I LOVED it.
I was the first person to pick up the pins. For $21.95, they are perfect! They have hidden Mickey’s all over them. The quality is incredible, as expected.
Like I said, some people were really upset over not having the mug and plush, but I was thrilled.
After purchasing the pins I browsed the store a bit and ended up making one more special purchase.
This Alice in Wonderland teacups mug.
How cool is this?! I am head over heels in love and so happy with it. I always have to resist buying new mugs each time I go to the store, but there were only three of this one and I love Alice in Wonderland. This mug will be put to very good use, and was 25% off!
After the Disney store I picked up a bagel and coffee from Starbucks, got a few groceries, and went home to snuggle in with Vampire Diaries and a good nap.
Perfect Saturday morning? Absolutely!
