As I sit here with a glass of red wine, listening to Rob and Scott discuss movies, I felt the need to share with you all the wonderful date day that Scott and I shared yesterday.
This month the movie that Scott started as an extra for, but once the director saw him he moved him up to a non speaking role, but still on the screen, came out.
The movie is The Witch, by the way!
I thought it would be fun to take Scott out for a date day after he was done work at 2 pm to see it!
But then he had to work a little late and we wouldn’t have made the movie time, but we had decided to go see Triple 9 instead because he didn’t want to see himself on screen. He’ll have to eventually!
While waiting around for him to be done, I looked around the store and found a necklace with my name on it!
I know to most of you this is no big deal, but to someone with the name Brooklyn, it was pretty much impossible as a kid to find anything with my name on it. If I were lucky I would find something that said Brooke.
It’s just not the same though….
So by the time he was off work, it started to rain.
We called a cab, and had such an awesome driver. I love when that happens. Out here in Vancouver it’s very hit or miss with cab drivers. I’ve had some really rude ones, but also some outstanding ones. This guy was outstanding!
We arrived at the theatre with a little over an hour before the movie started.
We had planned to go walking around, but of course it decided to pour.
It was nice just sitting in the theatre though. We had tons of time to just relax and chat without distractions, such as tv or construction.
For theatre snacks Scott got popcorn and I got a pulled pork wrap. It was actually really good!
The movie was so insanely amazing! I knew I would like it, but I didn’t realise just how much.
Casey Affleck is where it’s at! I’ve always preferred him to his brother Ben, and this movie is just proof once again how amazing he is!
After the movie we decided to go grab dinner somewhere.
We had originally planned to go to our favourite burger joint close to our house, but I wasn’t that hungry after my wrap.
We didn’t want to walk around too much since it was pouring and we didn’t have an umbrella on us.
We ended up at a small Boston Pizza close to the theatre.
I ordered a side of honey garlic chicken wings and a side Cesar salad. They brought me out a huge salad. OH welly 🙂
Scott ordered the pizza burger sliders.
For drinks I got a red sangria, and Scott got his favourite, a Guinness.
I’m sad to announce that neither of us liked our food 🙁
Scott’s sliders had no flavour. At all. I tried them. Also my salad was SOAKED in dressing. Ew.
But neither of us are the type to send back our food, so I ate as much as I could and Scott tried to pull apart his food so it looked like he ate some.
The waitress caught on to what he was doing and took his order off the bill, which was really nice of her.
Even though the food wasn’t that great it was still a nice dinner date.
Afterwards we walked around Granville street and ended up in our favourite comic shop, Golden Age Collectibles.
We missed our friend Casey and this Pop! reminded us of her!
Any Eleventh Doctor fan from Doctor Who will love this dress!
I love H8teful Eight! And Deadpool…
AVP!!!! I love both the Alien movies and Predator movies…except I’ve never seen Predator 2 because everyone warned me not to.
Next we went to the Pacific Center and wandered around THE DISNEY STORE, aka heaven.
Look at this adorable luggage!
I love love LOVE the Disney Store so much! I’m definitely going through my Disney obsession now. Every day my love grows stronger.
I love me some Essie. But I didn’t get any. I have to stop myself every time I see Essie.
After we took the subway back home and got some ice cream from Marble Slab.
We then spent the evening watching our favourite show The Office.
Overall I must say it was a very successful date day, and I’m glad we both had the time to do it! We definitely don’t get to enough!
What are your favourite go to’s for date days??
