First things first. I just want to apologize about the poor quality of this photo. I’m not sure what’s going on, but it just won’t clear up that well. The thing is, it was taken four years ago on my old phone. So you’ll have to forgive me 🙂
Don’t you just love Facebook memories? I got a pop up yesterday showing me this photo. I immediately smiled and remembered this day.
A few friends and I decided to drive from Melbourne to the Dandenong Ranges for a picnic. I don’t remember what we ate, but I do remember the relaxed day we all had. We drove past all of the cars and went down a road until there were only two or three other cars around. We noticed some people grilling up their lunches and decided this was the perfect spot to have our own picnic.
I was so excited to be out in nature! I LOVED living in Melbourne – it is such a thought out city, so pretty and easy to get out no matter where you are – but being in the Australian nature was incredible.
We ate our lunch and decided to go walking down a nearby trail. The trees were ginormous and made us feel so small. I love that.
I remember needing to go to the bathroom but I was too scared to go in the bush. It was snake season after all! I eventually went but was so nervous the whole time and kept looking around. I made my friends stand guard to let me know if a snake was getting too close.
We later ended up getting lost and drove around the most adorable little town called Sassafrass (my nickname), population 1,061 (2016). THIS TOWN WAS THE CUTEST! It had plenty of small tea shops and people wandering around the shops. I could have explored each and every shop and been so happy. We had scones and then headed back to Melbourne once the sun began to set.
I loved this day, it brings back so many happy memories.
