I cannot believe it is now Sunday night, or Monday morning when this goes up. I feel like it should only be Saturday morning. This weekend flew by so fast.
I had a great weekend, even though it went by too fast, and thought I should write it down.
Friday night began with Scott and I going to see IT. Our showing was at 7:30 p.m, so I met him at the train station right from work. We had pre-purchased our tickets on Tuesday. Thank goodness we did. The theatre was packed! Even on Tuesday there were limited seat options.
Before the movie started we headed to the best store in the world, The Disney Store! I was loving everything they had in stock. Seriously, I wanted everything.
In the end I couldn’t resist. I treated myself to a Scar plush! I am so in love with him. I’ve been cuddling him nonstop (even in the theatre…) and he is so perfect.
The movie IT was incredible! I had very high expectations, since horror is my favorite genre and IT is such a classic. This movie, while not as scary as I had been expecting, blew me away. I’m scared of clowns, but every time IT was on the screen I couldn’t look away. Bill did a fantastic job, and I hope people give him his due. Even Tim Curry loved IT.
The movie, while being a horror, had such heart to it. There were scenes that disgusted me, scenes that made my heart explode. I cannot wait for Chapter 2.
After the movie ended we headed to The Rogue Kitchen & Wetbar for a celebration.
We were celebrating our 4 year anniversary a bit early, and also celebrating Scott having just filmed his first commercial!
This was our first time there even though we live only 5 minutes away.
We both ordered drinks. Scott an Old Fashioned (I hated it SO much!), and me a Moscow Mule. Mine was good, but I’m beginning to realize that I don’t really like limes. I thought since lemons are something I use so often that I would like limes, but not so much.
We ordered several dishes off the happy hour menu.
Scott got some Salt & Pepper dry ribs. We shared homemade potato chips, a small margherita pizza, and I had a cauliflower and squash taco.
OH.MY.GOD. This taco was the BEST TACO I HAVE EVER EATEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. And I’ve eaten a lot of tacos.
This taco had roasted cauliflower, carrot chutney, spaghetti squash, romesco sauce, creme fraiche, pumpkin seeds & pico de gallo in a corn tortilla.
You cannot imagine the taste until you’ve tried it. AND it came with an adorable little syringe squirter of hot sauce.
I will go back solely for that taco.
Our waiter was also amazing.
The rest of the weekend has been spent doing some housework, grocery shopping, meal planning, meal prepping, and waiting on one of my landlords to come in and change my kitchen light bulbs.
Yeah, trying to cook dinner in a dark kitchen with no windows? Awful.
The light fixture is too high to reach and takes certain kinds of light bulbs. I love where I live, but there is always something wrong with the building or our suite, which is very frustrating.
Last night Scott and I ate pasta and watched Terminator 3. I heard awful things but I actually enjoyed it. Not as much as I enjoyed Terminator 2 though 😉
Now I am just going to try to relax for a few hours before bed and the start of another busy work week!
What did you do this weekend?
Are you going to see IT?
Congrats to Scott on the commercial 😀👍
Thanks! He had a great time 🙂
Ah this sounds like such a fun weekend! I don’t think I’ll be seeing IT in theaters, but maybe I’ll be brave enough to rent it haha
Also that pizza made me so hungry!

It’s the taco that I’ll be going back for!
I believe in you haha! It’s more psychologically scary than jump scares
That Scar plush is amazing! I need to watch IT soon. It sounds really good but I’ll probably be terrified. He’s so creepy… Also, Happy Anniversary 🙂
Thanks so much Laura! Scar was such a good purchase!
IT was incredible! I love horror and didn’t find it too scary, more psychological. But it all depends how much horror you can handle 🙂
