Our latest horror haul is a haul that I would love to read or watch a video of, so I am excited to do this post! If you don’t know, Scott and I love horror movies. We usually watch at least two a week, and are always on the look out for movies to buy to add to our ever growing collection.
It’s funny, when we first started dating I remember thinking he must have every horror movie ever made. Now I look at the size of our collection and can’t help but think it’s not big enough, we need to finish all of our movie series. For example. My favorite horror series is the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. We watched the Alexandra Daddario one last night. We own the original and all of the remakes (Leatherface will be arriving this week, score!), but I still need to get three more movies to complete the series.
Ahh well, one day 😉
There is a store that we love that we go to, but it is always dangerous to do so. It is always dangerous to do so because we always leave with loads of movies.
It looks like a toy store, because it technically is, but if you walk to the back of the store there are hundreds of DVD’s and Blu-rays. People can bring in their movies to trade or sell (for very cheap) and there are multiples of lots of films. We always get so lost in our own searches, and will meet up in one of the aisles and show each other our hauls. Since these are mostly second hand we are able to open up the movies to check the quality before purchasing, and the prices are so cheap!
For this recent haul Scott purchased Darkness Falls, The Strangers, The Last Exorcism, Paranormal Activity and The Bone Collector.
I purchased Hide and Seek, Ghost Ship, The Visit and Cabin Fever.
Since then we have already watched Ghost Ship, Hide and Seek and Paranormal Activity. Although we have seen all of these movies before, we both love to re-watch movies. I have not seen The Last Exorcism though, so that will be new for me.
I forgot just how good Ghost Ship is! If you’ve seen it before then you know how incredible that opening scene is. And the last time I saw Hide and Seek was in theatre when it came out in 2005. I still remember it so well. It is SO good. When I saw Paranormal Activity in theatre it made me nauseous due to the shakiness of the camera. Thankfully watching it at home on our smaller screen did not have a nauseating effect on me.
We saw Strangers 2 in theatres a couple of weeks ago. I enjoyed it, Scott, not so much. It just didn’t live up to the first movie. So I am so glad we now have the first one to watch again!
I’m not sure if you can tell, but I love horror movies and am so excited about this most recent haul of ours.
