Our Puerto Vallarta Trip Plans

A crocodile from the Australia Zoo

If you read my previous post then you know that Scott and I are headed to Puerto Vallarta shortly for a week of fun in the sun. This trip is much needed for us to de-stress, get away from everyday life, and explore somewhere new!

I have done a lot of research to plan our trip, but so far I have only booked one thing because Scott is more of a go with the flow type of person, and I don’t want to book too much.

When are we going?

We will be in Puerto Vallarta from October 30- November 5th. We are so lucky to have these dates because they coincide with Día de Muertos, or Day of The Dead. This is a celebration in Mexico to remember those who have died. If you are a Disney fan then you have to watch Coco, just so you know!

I have yet to find out much about the activities that will be going on, but have been told that this will be an incredible time to be in the city.

Where are we staying?

We will be spending 3 nights at the Hotel Marriott, and three nights at the Hotel Westin. I’m not sure which hotel I’m more excited to stay at as both look incredible.

What do we have planned?

We really want to embrace the time that we are there, and take part in as many Day of The Dead festivities as we can. I look forward to the parade, and seeing the colors of the Mexico.

As mentioned above, I have only booked one activity. This activity is something Scott and I are both SO EXCITED about.

We are going to Santuario de Cocodrilos El Cora, a crocodile sanctuary in Nuevo Vallarta. About 15 minutes North of the Puerto Vallarta airport you’ll find this sanctuary. We will be taking a one hour small boat tour where our captain will teach us more about these creatures.

Where will we eat?

I’m so excited to eat all of the Mexican food while there, and any suggestions that you may have are welcome!

So far I have a bunch of places on my list of where to eat, none of which we must go to, but different options to try out.

Utopia

River Cafe

La Palapa Restaurant

Salud Super Food

Planeta Vegatariano

Playa Detox

Barcelona Tapas

Gaby’s Restaurant

These places have all either been recommended to me, or places that I have heard about via research. And they all look so delicious.

Other than that I have left our schedule pretty open, that way we can decide what we want to do each day.

Do you have any suggestions of things we need to do?

Hi! I’m Brooklyn. Like many, I thought my purpose in life was to go to university, settle down and have kids. But that is not me.

My aim is to inspire you to travel as much as you can while you can, whether that be through au pair work, or on your limited vacation days. It CAN be done. This world is incredible, let’s explore it!
