I’m not sure if you know this about me, but I blimey LOVE crocodiles. Seriously, what majestic animals. With the strongest bite of any animal on Earth, they are the epic predator. At 240 million years old, they have been through and seen quite a lot. Every time I learn something new about crocodiles, I am astounded. Did you know that 99% of crocs are eaten in their first year? They then have to spend the rest of their lives trying not to be eaten or attacked by other crocs, or killed by humans.
The first time I saw a real live croc was at the Australia zoo. I was floored by how beautiful they were.
What a cutie!
Watching the crocodile show at the Australia zoo was so interesting. I only wish it were longer.
The next time I saw crocs were on a Daintree rainforest tour. We were on a small boat, floating down the river, and spotting tons of wild animals. There were an abundance of crocs lining the shore or swimming. All were on their own, which is typical of crocs, and all stared us down, daring us to get closer.
We didn’t get too close, unfortunately.
Since then the only other crocodile was not even a crocodile, but a caiman at the Vancouver aquarium. A caiman is a subfamily of the alligators. Still amazing!
How do you feel about crocodiles? Do you love them like I do?
