Growing up I read all of the Anne of Green Gables books. Every. Single. One.
Over and over, these books were so easy to fall into. You could find yourself trapped, unable to put the book down. But that was okay, because Green Gables, or Avonlea, or wherever you happened to be in the books, was a safe place to be.
Anne was always so relatable that re-reading these books was like coming back home.
When I went to visit my parents and sister in New Brunswick, they told me that we were going to PEI for the night.
When I think about PEI the first thing that comes to mind is Anne of Green Gables, because the author Lucy Maud Montgomery grew up in Cavendish and based the novels off a home near by.
I also think about potatoes, but that’s a whole other story.
Even though going to Cavendish was a surprise, I knew that that was of course where we would be going.
This site here is the site that inspired Lucy Maud Montgomery to write Anne of Green Gables, thus inspiring a little bit of Anne in all of us.
Have you ever read Anne of Green Gables? Have you ever been here?
