This is probably one of the easiest, quickest dishes to make. It took me 20 minutes (other than preheating the oven) and is vegan! However, if you are not vegan, I’m not, you will still find this so good!
I use a grocery delivery service called Spud. They deliver fresh, local and organic groceries to your door. I don’t use them every week, but probably 3 out of the 4 weeks in a month.
I have discovered so many new products that I may not have tried before if it weren’t for Spud.
One of those products is the Gardein Seven Grain Crispy Tenders. These are a vegan “chick’n” strip. I have always loved chicken strips. When I ate meat I would eat them a lot, especially in wraps or salads.
When I saw these vegan chicken strips I didn’t think I would like them, but Spud had them on sale so I decided to give them a try.
I have been ordering them every other week since then!
They are so delicious, even my meat loving boyfriend enjoys them.
They are quite small, so one pack usually lasts me two meals. I usually make some as regular chicken strips with plum sauce and sweet potato fries, and then do something different with my other meal.
For this meal I decided to bake them in the oven, and then mix them with some veggies that I cooked in my cast iron pan. (If you don’t have a cast iron pan, you need one. They will last forever if you treat them right and you can do so much with them!)
I baked the chicken strips for 20 minutes in the oven, flipping half way. While they were baking I took some brussels sprouts, yellow carrots and green beans and cooked them up in the cast iron pan. Once they were cooked, I like them still a bit crunchy, I mixed some teriyaki sauce into them and plated them up.
Next I took out the chick’n strips and added them to the plate.
As Emeril would say, BAM!
Quick, easy, vegan, delicious!
Ready in 20 minutes.
Looking at these pictures I’m now craving this meal again. I think I need to make another Spud order!
Have you ever tried Gardein products?
Would you ever try these chick’n strips?
Do you have a cast iron?
Yum! Sadly, I dont think these are also gluten free (are they?). However, I do love the Gardein chipotle black bean burgers and they are a staple in my freezer for quick meals!
Oh good question! I’m not sure. Since I’m able to eat gluten I never thought about it.
I need to try those burgers! I was just in the grocery store looking for frozen veggie burgers for a quick dinner but none looked great to me. Maybe I can order some of the Gardein chipotle black bean burgers 🙂
