Every Tuesday evening Scott has class, so I am on my own for a few hours. I usually just spend the time catching up on YouTube videos and that’s all. This Tuesday evening, however, I was in dire need of some relaxation, so I gave it to myself.
The evening started with a bath. You can’t get much more relaxed at home than with a hot bath right? So I filled the tub nice and warm (I’m terrible at making the bath too hot then not being able to get into it for another half hour!) and added in a bath bomb. This bomb wasn’t from Lush, but from a farmer’s market in Fredericton, New Brunswick. I fell in love with these bath bombs in August when I visited some family, so for Christmas my mother gave me some! I only have one left. It’s a touch stressful. As much as I adore a good Lush bath bomb, these ones make the color of the water so pretty and the smell in incredible!
During the bath I put on Ellie Steadman’s YouTube channel. I found Ellie Steadman by looking up Disney YouTubers. She is so sweet and the video I watched was her experience going to afternoon tea where Alan Menken was the guest, and the Be Our Guest premier.
If you don’t know who Alan Menken is then sorry to tell you, but you’re wrong. He is a musical theatre a film composer and pianist. He has done the scores for Little Shop of Horrors, and LOADS of Disney films. Some of his works include The Little Mermaid, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, Tangled. So much! So you definitely know some of his music.
At the afternoon tea he performed the songs he’s written and played the piano. I wish I could have been there.
Ellie could only film snippets of her time at the Be Our Guest premier, but she was able to film all of the actors coming onto the stage to introduce each other. Not going to lie, as soon as Stanley Tucci walked on stage I teared up. Yes those tears spilled over onto my cheeks. Okay, I cried a little! I love Stanley Tucci, and pretty much the entire cast.
This movie means so much to me because Belle has always been my favorite Disney Princess and Cogsworth one of my favorite Disney sidekicks. This movie is going to be so magical <3 I cannot wait.
Since her video is nearly an hour long I continued to watch it through dinner. For dinner I made veggie fried rice. It was delicious! My fried rice had corn, broccoli, carrot, water chestnut, snow peas, green beans, yellow pepper and sesame seeds.
I ended my evening with painting my nails – I legit suck – and then finished the night watching Bones with Scott.
I have been really emotional since starting on a new medication, and this relaxing night was exactly what I needed 🙂
What are your favorite ways to relax?
How excited are you for Be Our Guest?
