The Bondi to Bronte Walk
I went to Sydney for a quick weekend back when I was an au pair. We arrived Saturday morning and left Monday morning. I stayed in an apartment a 5 minute walk from Bondi beach with my host family. It seemed more like a large hotel room, with 3 small bedrooms.
I didn’t spend too much time with my host family while in Sydney as they let me go off to explore. And I did.
The morning of the second day I decided to do the Bondi to Bronte walk. I had planned to do the Bondi to Coogee walk, but it was extremely hot (we went in March) and I had a full day of wandering around to do, so I decided to take the quicker route instead of skipping it altogether.
And boy am I glad I did!
Thankfully at last minute before I departed for my walk I decided to buy a new hat because otherwise my face would have melted off and I would have looked like a lobster. The sun was very strong but made my surroundings look beyond gorgeous.
I’m not positive on the distance, but one way I believe it was about 2 km. Everywhere around me were many walkers, runners (I would have died) and people just working out on the outdoor equipment. The walk had such a sense of community. And the Tamarama beach was a place I definitely could have stayed for a while.
I only wish that I had gotten more photos, but as I was in a bit of a rush to go start my day (off to the zoo!) I just took a few quick photos.
Even though I’m lacking on photos, I think the few photos that I did take are so beautiful (how could they not be?) that they are well worth it.
It still amazes me just how bright the day was and how blue that water was. I was definitely jealous of everyone who was surfing that day or relaxing on the beach.
Also I definitely cooled off (tried to stop sweating) under those cliffs. I was not the only one.
Hopefully one day I can make it back to Sydney and complete the whole 6 km Bondi to Coogee walk. I will definitely be looking forward to it until that day!
