What To Do In Vancouver, February 2020

The month of February is always one of my favorites to be in Vancouver. There is just so much going on! From comedy to food, we are spoiled for choice when it comes to events this month.

Thinking of visiting Vancouver? Now is the perfect month, don’t let the rain stop you!

Comedy

Just For Laughs NorthWest (JFL), is Vancouver’s Just For Laughs festival. We went last year and saw Whitney Cummings, and this year we are seeing Bill Burr (!!!!!) and going to our usual Wall to Wall Comedy night. And who knows, possibly more.

What is JFL? This festival is in the city for 12 days, and during this time you can see stand up comedy, podcasts, sketch comedy, and improv from some of the best in the game. The best part is how low the prices are. This festival gives everyone the chance to see some wonderful comedy at very affordable prices.

Plan you visit or check out this years line up!

Food

Looking to have some great eats this month? There will be plenty!

What I’m most excited for is The Mad Hatter Tea Party, which will be taking place at Neverland Tea Salon for the month of February. Check out Neverland Tea Salon’s Instagram to see some preview photos. I have been stalking their Instagram, as I am just so excited!

Prices are $38 per person, $32 for seniors, and $24 for children. Have dietary restrictions? No problem! They can accommodate you, just let them know.

Bookings are going quickly, so I would book as quick as you can.

Not in the mood for high tea? Vancouver’s 10th annual hot chocolate festival is here this month, with 44 shops taking part and 114 different flavours to choose from.  This festival only lasts until February 14th, so if you want to test out some new flavours, now is the time!

The Vancouver International Wine Festival is here for 8 days, starting February 22, and has over 1450 different wines! With a tasting room featuring over 750 wines, you can taste plenty. Something to note here is that funds are being raised for Bard on the Beach Theatre Society. So if you like wine and theatre, this is the event for you.

Arts

There is always so much going on in Vancouver when it comes to the arts, and this month is no exception.

The Arts Club Theatre Company has plenty going on this month. There is Cipher, Kim’s Convenience (based on the tv show), The Wedding Party, Noises Off, and more. Check out the website here.

Broadway Across Canada will be presenting the Tony Award winning musical, Dear Evan Hansen.

Fan Expo Vancouver is back once again, this year with plenty of celebrities to meet. Brendan Fraser, Giancarlo Espocito, Cristina Ricci, Bruce Campbell, Tom Welling, Corey Feldman, Oscar Nunez, Brian Baumgartner, Levar Burton, Chandler Riggs, Will B Davis, and Mitch Peleggi.

I won’t be attending this year, but if I was I would be so excited to see Brendan Fraser and Bruce Campbell!

Lastly, to celebrate the Lunar New Year and Year of the Rat, there are a wide range of events going on around the city! Here is a whole post from Lunar Fest that has all events listed, with more info!

What will you be doing in Vancouver this month?

travel blogger

Hi! I’m Brooklyn. Like many, I thought my purpose in life was to go to university, settle down and have kids. But that is not me.

My aim is to inspire you to travel as much as you can while you can, whether that be through au pair work, or on your limited vacation days. It CAN be done. This world is incredible, let’s explore it!
