Why I Started Blogging

I have now been blogging for several months, and already I can’t imagine not having this blog.

I have been reading blogs for years. I think the first blog that I fell in love with was Blogilates, and then Simply Taralynn.

I still read both of these blogs today, which I love.

I love how I can feel such a connection with people I’ve never met, and feel proud for them for the accomplishments that they have achieved.

Like how Cassey Ho from Blogilates now has her own fitness Empire. Amazing!

I have always spent so much time writing. As a kid it was silly songs or stories. Then poetry. Then diary entries.

Then I would just open Microsoft word on my laptops and write what I soon realized were essentially blog posts.

Except I didn’t have a blog.

I literally did this for years. I would come home, get cozy, and just write my heart out.

I had SO many posts saved onto my old laptops.

After reading so many different blogs for years, I realized that I was actually writing my own posts everyday, I just had nowhere to publish them.

Before moving to Australia, so many people asked me to start a blog to document my travels.

I considered it, but decided that I wasn’t really comfortable with putting my life on the internet.

But I loved writing and taking photos.

Photo editing soon became a huge hobby of mine.

Then in October 2015 I was off work for a month.

I quickly became bored with nothing to do, so of course I took to writing on my laptop.

Suddenly I began to seriously consider starting a blog.

Why not right? I’ve been writing posts for years, and I have since lost all of those photos and posts.

If I would have just started a blog in the first place, like so many people told me to do, I wouldn’t have lost it all.

And since I was off work, it was the perfect time to learn about how to start a blog.

To be honest I didn’t really learn much.

I just wrote down a few sample posts, purchased my domain, and set it all up!

I’ve said before and I’ll say it many times. This blog is like my form of therapy.

I always feel SO much better after spending some time writing here.

I guess I’ve always done it, but now the whole world has the opportunity to read it.

I thought that I would hate having the world able to read what I write, but turns out I love it.

I have received so much support from other bloggers, or people I have connected with through social media such as Instagram & Twitter.

My only regret is not starting this blog sooner!

This has been a random, rambling post, but I’m glad I decided to share my blogging story with you all.

If you have ever considered starting a blog but have been too shy to do it, I would say go for it!

The pros definitely out weigh the cons, in my opinion 🙂

Hi! I’m Brooklyn. Like many, I thought my purpose in life was to go to university, settle down and have kids. But that is not me.

My aim is to inspire you to travel as much as you can while you can, whether that be through au pair work, or on your limited vacation days. It CAN be done. This world is incredible, let’s explore it!
